Storms Fire Up and Ex Cyclone moves West

This is quite a unique satellite image this afternoon showing a variety of conditions. We have the large storms over NE QLD generated by a trough and instability, we have showers along the East Coast south of Bowen in strengthening SE winds, and lastly there is EX TC Owen.

Ex Owen is clearly seen with a fully exposed low level circulation. Models are now firming in this system moving west and reaching the coast, however they all differ on exactly where it will cross the coast. This will be absolutely vital in knowing where will get rain and how much. South of the system will likely get a drenching while to the north gets bugger all. It really is turning into a bit of a forecasting nightmare as an upper trough and an easterly surge comes into play as well.
